What are the application scenarios of high-frequency RFID readers?

The operating frequency of high-frequency (HF) RFID Readers is 13.56MHz and can read multiple electronic tags at the same time. Energy is mainly transmitted through inductive coupling of the antenna coil. The magnetic field signal can produce a relatively uniform read and write area with obvious read area boundaries, and relevant data can be written into the RFID tag.

According to the output power of high-frequency RFID readers, they can be divided into low-power readers (less than 1W), medium-power readers (with power 1~4W), and high-power readers (more than 4W).

According to the reading distance of the reader, high-frequency readers can be divided into short-range readers (single antenna, <10cm), medium-range readers (10cm<single antenna<40cm), and long-range readers. (single antenna <80cm, dual antenna >1.2m)

Application scenarios

The working frequency of high-frequency RFID readers is recognized globally and has no special restrictions. It mainly follows two protocols, ISO/IEC14443 and ISO/IEC15693, and is used to identify people or items within 1 meter.

The ISO/IEC14443 protocol reader has a relatively short reading distance and is mainly used in production automation, Access Control and attendance, security, my country's second-generation ID Card, all-in-one card, and product anti-counterfeiting;

The ISO/IEC15693 protocol card reader has a long reading distance, can communicate over long distances, and has a wide range of applications, such as production automation, medical management, Jewelry inventory, Asset MANAGEMENT, parking lot management and product anti-counterfeiting, access control and attendance, meeting sign-in, and barrier-free Channels, asset management, logistics and supply chain, Library management, medical management and access control tickets and other fields.

Here, we will introduce the application of high-frequency RFID readers based on typical industrial applications.

1. Industrial assembly line

Using production line products or production line pallets as carriers, bind high-frequency RFID tags to products or pallets, enter product information in the tags, deploy high-frequency RFID readers on workstation nodes, and manage the identification of the production line. , transmit the process information, workpiece information, etc. on the production line to the control system, collect data from each production stage of the production line in a timely and accurate manner, and grasp the production progress in real time.

2. RID production tracking and traceability

The high-frequency RFID reader/writer records in real time the products passing through the workstation nodes on the production line, quickly and accurately connecting the information between processes and workpieces, and avoiding misinstallation or missing parts of parts. When a problem occurs, the RFID tag information read by the high-frequency RFID readers on different workstation nodes can be used to trace back the production, find the root cause of the problem, and achieve lean production management on the production line.

3. AGV car site identification

RFID landmark tags are installed on the AGV trolley track, and a high-frequency RFID reader is installed on the bottom of the AGV trolley. The AGV trolley reads the landmark card through the landmark sensor during driving to identify the site or path, thereby controlling and dispatching the AGV trolley to complete the production site. Material distribution/handling and other work.
