The effect of RFID implementation in the logistics field

In the field of logistics, warehousing has always played a very important role. Modern warehousing must not only realize the storage function of goods, but also clearly mark the types, quantities, owners, storage locations and other attributes of the goods in the warehouse. The Stored goods should have clear upstream and downstream connection data in the supply chain. The current market development trend is that each order is getting smaller and smaller, but the total order volume is getting larger and larger, and the operating time is getting shorter and shorter, which requires suppliers to provide increasingly complex and sophisticated products and services. How to reduce inventory investment, strengthen inventory control, reduce logistics and distribution costs, improve the utilization of space, personnel and equipment, and shorten the order process and replenishment time have become the core of warehousing issues. RFID technology can realize fully automatic control and management of the warehouse entry, exit, movement, inventory and batching operations of inventory goods, which can improve the quality and efficiency of enterprise material management. ① Warehousing and inspection

When the goods with RFID tags arrive at the warehouse, the reader at the entrance will automatically identify the tags and automatically transmit the collected information to the backend management system. The management system will automatically update the inventory list, and the company will respond accordingly according to the needs of the order. The goods are sent to the correct location. In the above process, modern warehousing and inspection methods using RFID technology have simplified the traditional goods acceptance procedures, eliminating the need for tedious inspection, recording and counting and a large number of manpower-requiring tasks.

② Arrange and replenish goods

The delivery vehicle equipped with a reader-writer can automatically identify the goods with RFID tags and automatically transport the goods to the correct location according to the instructions of the management system. After the delivery vehicle completes the instructions of the management system, the reader/writer identifies the RFID tag again and sends the new cargo storage information to the management system. The management system updates the cargo storage list and stores the new cargo location information. The database of the management system will set a minimum storage capacity of various goods according to the enterprise's production requirements. When a certain kind of goods cannot reach the minimum storage capacity, the management system will send replenishment instructions to the relevant departments.

When sorting and replenishing goods, it is easy to find incorrectly placed goods by comparing the data collected by the RFID Reader with the data stored in the management system. If the RFID reader identifies incorrectly placed goods, the reader will send an alarm to the management system, and the management system will send an instruction to the delivery vehicle reader to place the goods correctly. The delivery vehicle will then place the goods according to the received instructions. Goods are rearranged to the correct location.

③ Transportation of goods out of warehouse

After applying the RFID system, cargo transportation will be highly automated. When the goods are shipped out of the warehouse, the warehouse channel will automatically record the type, batch, quantity and departure time of the outbound goods, and send the information about the outbound goods to the management system in real time. The management system will immediately determine the shipment based on the order. Whether the information on the goods in the warehouse is correct or not. The entire above-mentioned process does not require manual intervention and can be fully automated, greatly improving the accuracy and speed of outbound delivery.
