Schreiner MediPharm introduces innovative RFID electronic tags

Schreiner MediPharm is a Germany-based supplier of innovative functional label solutions for the healthcare industry. In 2020, Schreiner Medipharm enhanced its tamper-evident professional label Cap-Lock with a special RFID Inlay.

Its Cap-Lock is a combination of a cap adapter and an RFID tag, the adapter is placed on top of the syringe's main closure and interconnected with it to balance the diameter difference between the syringe body and the closure. The RFID electronic tag is wrapped around the syringe barrel body and the needle cap adapter and, once opened, provides irreversible tamper evidence due to the integral perforation.

The RFID inlay is located at the upper end of the label, so it is mainly outside the liquid-filled area, enabling reliable remote reading. Due to the RFID function, digital first-opening evidence is now possible in addition to the purely visual first-opening signs provided by the previously destroyed labels. RFID tags can be automatically processed as part of the normal labeling workflow of the primary container.

Recently, Schreiner MediPharm launched customizable RFID labels, enabling complex smart labels to be provided in a short time and specific order programming of the integrated RFID chip. The product is designed to meet the challenges of the healthcare industry, which is changing rapidly.
