RFID system is applied to Chongqing Zongshen Power Machinery engine assembly line

1. Project background

       Chongqing Zongshen Group is a large-scale manufacturing enterprise with an annual output of 500W units of power mechanical engines. Guangzhou IFAST IOT provides RFID products and technical services to Zongshen. The identification application of RFID Readers covers 12 assembly lines of Chongqing Zongshen Engine Factory, assisting Its engine assembly line realizes automated and intelligent assembly and production scheduling. After a long period of operation observation, the stable operation of the RFID system equipment has been praised by Zongshen Group.

2. RFID application solutions

1) Principles of RFID technology

       RFID uses the principle of radar backscattering to transmit signals between tags and readers. It has the characteristics of large data storage, readable and writable, non-contact, long recognition distance, fast recognition speed, good confidentiality, strong penetration and long life. , good environmental adaptability and the ability to identify multiple tags at the same time, and can work in various harsh environments.

2) Production line analysis

       This assembly line belongs to the assembly part of Zongshen Engine Factory. It has always had the following problems: the inability to effectively utilize working time; the phenomenon of work waiting due to the unequal working hours of each process; poor production adaptability and the inability to flexibly respond to different parts; in order to ensure the production efficiency Continuity and economy lead to large inventory of products; long production lines lead to inconsistent or even uncoordinated operations; defective products are easily overlooked, affecting product quality; workers are prone to errors in operation; worker efficiency is inconsistent, affecting overall production efficiency .

3) RFID selection

       Based on the site environment and Party A's requirements, the CK-FR03 model reader was finally selected. The reader has strong anti-interference ability, high receiving sensitivity, stable performance, and strong reliability.

       The RFID reader ignores the obstruction of objects and can read information without touching the tag. The tag only needs to be within the range of the RFID reader. Labels are also available in various shapes, ranging from small discs, cylinders, squares, and screws, which can meet the needs of industrial production.

4) Production line transformation

       Install RFID readers on both sides of the Zongshen engine assembly line, and install matching tags on the engine running pallet. During operation, whenever the equipment reaches a designated position, the card reader learns from the information of the RFID tag how many processes the component has gone through and how many processes are still missing. After program processing, the robot above the assembly line completes the next step of installation. The entire assembly process is controlled by the program without manual intervention, realizing the intelligent transformation of the assembly line, improving production efficiency and reducing production costs.

       During the production and assembly process, data is automatically collected through RFID. Workers can monitor the production status in real time through the MES management system control panel and change the production process at any time. After quality inspection, unqualified products are automatically eliminated through RFID data, which facilitates the analysis of product data and flexibly adjusts the mixed-line production and assembly of multiple familiar products. If there is a problem with the equipment in a certain process, the location of the equipment can be quickly detected, and the staff can be intelligently reminded to quickly clear the fault or adjust to other equipment to continue assembly and production.
