NFC anti-counterfeiting label application solution

NFC is the abbreviation of near field communication, which means short-range wireless communication technology. NFC anti-counterfeiting labels refer to anti-counterfeiting labels that use short-range wireless communication technology to achieve multiple functions such as identity authentication, anti-counterfeiting identification, ticket identification, and electronic payment. NFC anti-counterfeiting labels are developed on the basis of RFID tags (contactless radio frequency identification), and their functions and application range are more powerful and extensive than RFID tags.

The basic idea of product anti-counterfeiting is to give this product a unique logo and only associate it with a specific platform. If this unique logo cannot be found on the associated platform, then this thing is considered a counterfeit product. NFC anti-counterfeiting labels can provide unique electronic logos that can be used to identify the authenticity of products, protect corporate self-branded products, prevent counterfeit anti-counterfeiting products from circulating in the market, and safeguard consumer rights.

The anti-counterfeiting measures of NFC anti-counterfeiting labels include: in response to counterfeiters' cloning of labels, a security encryption algorithm is built into the NFC chip in the label, and the ciphertext is obtained through encryption. The ciphertext cannot be deciphered, raising the technical threshold for counterfeiters to imitate; a unique UID is injected into the chip, which is burned out at the factory to ensure that the ID number is unique and difficult to change. Without authorization, it cannot be written.

However, the chip in the NFC anti-counterfeiting label is limited by the cost and power consumption of the usage scenario, and it is difficult to use complex and highly secure encryption algorithms, which greatly reduces the anti-cloning property of the chip and there is a risk of being cracked and imitated in batches. There is an internal control problem in the writing process of the UID, and the Stored UID is also at risk of physical attack. Cases of NFC anti-counterfeiting labels being imitated are not uncommon.

In addition, the data of the anti-counterfeiting label needs to be encrypted/decrypted on the server, and supporting the concurrent data encryption/decryption operations of a large number of labels will undoubtedly greatly increase the anti-counterfeiting cost of the server.

Is there a technical solution for NFC anti-counterfeiting labels that takes into account both cost and security?

After 5 years of research and development, from chip design to chip manufacturing, from stability and reliability improvement to product iteration, the company has successfully developed a strong PUF chip based on SRAM and an anti-counterfeiting authentication NFC Tag containing PUF, which is a highly secure and reliable security solution. The PUF chip uses the unevenness and unpredictability of the chip manufacturing process to form a unique physical parameter difference to generate a unique entropy source. This entropy source can be used to dynamically generate the UID of NFC. By verifying the challenge response relationship of the PUF chip in the NFC tag, the authenticity of the tag can be verified. Due to the non-clonability of PUF, the tag cannot be imitated. The server does not need to perform complex encryption/decryption calculations, and the cost of implementing the anti-counterfeiting function will be greatly reduced.

The company's PUF-NFC anti-counterfeiting tag is a product that fully supports the NFC Forum Type2 protocol and ISO14443 TypeA protocol. In addition to the triple authentication function of the 128-bit key, it also has a 96-bit true random number signature mapping function; this product also has a built-in PUF function, using the non-clonable nature of PUF to verify the anti-counterfeiting of the tag. The product can be widely used in product anti-counterfeiting, identity authentication and other fields.
