Application of RFID technology in warehouse

RFID technology can perform non-contact identification of items to be inspected, can be used in a variety of harsh environments, and has the characteristics of fast reading speed, small size, strong penetration, reusability, large capacity, and high safety. By combining RFID technology with the pallet system and applying it in the warehousing and distribution center, the identification efficiency can be improved and work efficiency can be effectively improved.

The application of electronic labels is mainly to meet one or more of the following requirements:

1. Requirements for tracking and traceability of item information;

2. Requirements for high accuracy and high safety;

3. Requirements for unique identification and inability to be forged;

4. The need for rapid processing of large quantities of items;

5. The need for real-time monitoring of items. It can be seen that the application market is not limited to the above. As long as the system has the above requirements, electronic tags can be applied.

1. Working principle of RFID technology

After the RFID tag enters the reading range, it will receive the radio frequency signal from the reader, and gain energy through the induced current to send out the product information that has been Stored in the chip. The tag can also actively send out a signal of a specific frequency, and the reader can Obtain information and decode it, and then send the decoded information to the central information system for relevant data processing.

2. Advantages of RFID technology

1) Reading is convenient and fast: tag data can be read without the use of a light source, and the information can be read through the packaging. In this way, the range of information reading is larger. If the active tag with its own battery is used, the effective identification distance can be as high as more than 30 meters, which can cover a considerable area.

2) Fast reading speed: As soon as the RFID tag enters the magnetic field, the reader can immediately read the information in it, and it does not only read the information of one tag at a time, but can read multiple tags at the same time. Achieve batch recognition, which can greatly improve the efficiency of information reading.

3) Penetration and screen-free reading: If traditional barcodes want to read information, the scanner must be in close contact with the label, and there must be no objects in the middle, so that the barcode information can be recognized. However, RFID can penetrate some common non-metallic and non-transparent materials such as cartons, wood and plastics to read tag information, achieving penetrating communication without the need for a light source and a wider reading range.

4) Large data capacity: With the development of label technology, data capacity is gradually becoming larger and larger. Compared with the barcodes we use today, RFID tags have dozens or even hundreds of times the capacity of barcodes and can store more information.

5) Long service life and wide range of applications: RFID uses radio communication, which allows it to adapt to highly polluted environments such as dust and oil, and its packaging is closed, making its lifespan much longer than that of barcodes;

6) Tag data can be changed: Use a programmer to program data into the electronic tag, so that the RFID tag has the function of an interactive portable data File, and the time to write data is shorter than the time to print a barcode;

7) Better security: RFID electronic tags can not only be embedded and attached to products of different shapes and specifications, but also can set password protection for the reading and writing of tag data, thus making them have better security;

8) Dynamic real-time communication: RFID tags communicate with readers at a frequency of dozens of times per second, so once an object with an RFID tag appears within the recognition range of the reader, it can be dynamically read immediately Track and monitor to understand its dynamics in real time.

3. Analysis of the application of RFID in warehousing management

The core of RFID is to make each product have its own specific piece of information to distinguish it from other products. In conjunction with this, RFID Readers are set up at the entrance and exit of the warehouse to read the information of the goods passing through the readers. Information, you can use the RFID handheld client to scan items in the warehouse.

1) Warehousing process based on RFID

After the goods are loaded and shipped, the cargo information and vehicle information will be transmitted to the warehouse. The warehouse's warehousing management system will allocate the storage area and storage location of the goods according to the actual situation. When the goods arrive, warehouse staff can use the RFID reader to verify the goods. The reader will quickly read the relevant information of the goods, quickly check whether the goods are correct, and ensure that the goods are put into storage in a timely manner. After the goods are delivered to the designated warehouse area, the reader will scan and check again when entering the warehouse, and the information will be transmitted to the warehouse management system. When errors occur, manual corrections will be made.

2) Inventory business based on RFID

After using RFID technology, the inventory work can be completed quickly and with high accuracy. By reading the information of the goods through the reader and comparing it with the goods in the system, you can easily find out the quantity, type, warranty period and other information of the goods.

3) Outbound business process based on RFID

When leaving the warehouse, the staff checks the pick-up order and enters the information into the system. The system will automatically call up the relevant information of the goods, which can determine the warehouse area and cargo location of the goods, and then use a forklift with a scanner to remove the goods, or use a Generally, after the forklift takes off the goods, a handheld RFID client is used to scan them. Check whether the goods are accurate. If there are any errors, the system will remind you. When scanning, the cargo information will be entered into the computer, the warehouse management system pickup information will be confirmed, a pickup order will be generated, and the cargo information in the system will be automatically changed.

Of course, in the process of warehouse management automation and intelligence, warehouses using RFID technology can be well integrated with intelligent handling equipment such as smart forklifts, and can completely make the entry and exit of goods unmanned and intelligent.
