MQ-2 Smoke Sensor Module

Module Description:

MQ-2 type smoke sensor belongs to tin dioxide semiconductor gas sensing material, which belongs to surface ion type N-type semiconductor. At 200~300 degrees Celsius, tin dioxide adsorbs oxygen in the air, forming negative ion adsorption of oxygen, which reduces the electron density in the semiconductor and increases its resistance value. When in contact with smoke, if the barrier at the grain boundary is adjusted by the smoke, it will cause a change in the surface conductivity. Using this point, the information of the existence of this kind of smoke can be obtained. The greater the concentration of the smoke, the greater the conductivity, and the lower the output resistance, the greater the output analog signal.

Module Features:

1. MQ-2 sensor has high sensitivity to natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and other smog, especially to alkane smog, has good anti-interference, can accurately eliminate the interference information of irritating non-flammable fumes .

2. MQ-2 sensor has good repeatability and long-term stability. Initial stability, short response time, good long-term work performance. It should be noted that it must be heated for a period of time before use, otherwise the output resistance and voltage will be inaccurate.

3. The detection range of combustible gas and smoke is 100~10000ppm

(ppm is the volume concentration. 1ppm=1 cubic centimeter/1 cubic meter)

4. The circuit design has a wide voltage range, below 24V, and the heating voltage is 5±0.2V

Notice:. If the heating voltage is too high, the input current will be too large, the internal signal line will be blown, and the device will be scrapped.

MQ-2 is often used in gas leakage monitoring devices in homes and factories, and is suitable for the detection of liquefied gas, benzene, alkane, alcohol, hydrogen, smoke, etc. Therefore, MQ-2 can be accurately described as a multi-gas detector.
