IR Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module

The IR infrared obstacle avoidance sensor has a pair of infrared transmitting and receiving tubes. The transmitting tube emits infrared rays of a certain frequency. When the detection direction encounters an obstacle (reflecting surface), the infrared rays are reflected back and received by the receiving tube.

It is often used to install on a car to determine whether there is an obstacle ahead. Threshold value can be set by potentiometer. When there is an obstacle in front of it, the green light is on, and the OUT pin is low, otherwise it is high.

Module Description:


1. When the module detects the green indicator light on the obstacle signal circuit board, and the port continuously outputs a low level signal to the detection module, it detects a distance of 2 to 30 cm, a 35-degree angle, and the detection distance can be adjusted with the potentiometer clockwise and the potentiometer increases. Detected distance; turn the potentiometer counterclockwise. Reduce the detection distance.


2. The sensor actively detects infrared reflection, so the reflectivity and shape of the target are the keys to the detection distance. Among them, the black detection distance is the smallest, and the white detection distance is the largest; the small area is small, and the distance between the small area and the large area is large.


3. The output port IO of the sensor module can be directly connected to the OUT port of the microcontroller, or it can directly drive the 5V relay; wiring method: VCC-VCC; GND-GND; OUT-IO


4. The comparator adopts LM393, which works stably;


5. The module can be powered by 3-5V DC power supply. After the power is turned on, the red power indicator light is on;


6. With 3mm screw holes, it is easy to fix and install;


7. Circuit board size: 3.2CM*1.4CM


8. Each module has been adjusted by the potentiometer to compare the voltage threshold before leaving the factory. Please do not adjust the potentiometer at will unless there are special circumstances.
