Using RFID tags to realize visual management of industrial intelligent manufacturing production lines

With the continuous promotion of automation and informatization, industrial intelligence has become a topic of great concern. For enterprises, the process flow and information of each link on the production line are crucial. In the perception layer of the Internet of Things, RFID, as an important core component, realizes intelligent production line management through contactless and imperceptible identification and data collection. Through RFID electronic tags, different devices are interconnected, thus realizing visual management on the production line.


Under the requirements of diversified production technology, industrial intelligent manufacturing production lines use RFID technology for automatic identification and data collection. Compared with traditional barcode technology, RFID technology has the ability of wireless long-distance reading and writing, can collect data at high speed, has larger storage capacity, and can be used in harsh environments. I. Application of production line RFID reader in intelligent manufacturing production line


(1) Data collection


The RFID tag is attached to the production material or pallet, and the product specifications, quantity, time, person in charge and other related information are recorded on the RFID tag to replace the traditional manual record. The production management personnel can read the product information at any time through the RFID reader. Other relevant personnel can also understand the production status in time and adjust the production arrangement according to the situation, and grasp the flow of materials.


(2) Data transmission


The reading and writing equipment is installed at each collection point. When the material or pallet with RFID electronic tag passes the collection point, the RFID reader will automatically obtain the material information and transmit it to the background. The management personnel know the location of the material accurately through the background.


(3) Composition of main RFID equipment


RFID equipment mainly consists of RFID electronic tags, fixed RFID readers, RFID Antennas, RFID handheld terminals and RFID cables.

II. Principle of RFID production line process management system


1. Install RFID readers and RFID antennas at the process points that need to be controlled, and install RFID tags on the tooling board or material box carrying the work-in-progress.


2. Before starting production, the RFID tag ID fixed on the tooling board or material box is associated with the production batch number through the production management system, and the RFID tag ID on the tooling board or material box is read by the RFID reader, and the production barcode is scanned by the barcode gun. The RFID tag ID is bound to the production barcode on the work-in-progress. The manager can learn from the system which processes the products on the production line have gone through, accurately grasp the data of the products in production, and understand the production progress of the products and the work status of the employees.


3. In the production interface of the management software, generate the production information (such as name, number, batch, etc.), and write this information into the RFID tag through the RFID reader. After writing correctly, the product is transmitted to each process for production.


4. When the work-in-progress arrives at each controlled process point, the RFID reader will write the process content and process point information into the RFID tag, transmit the production data to the server through the network, and update the database in real time.


5. After reaching the last process point, the RFID reader will read the RFID tag information on the tooling board or material box and transmit it to the production management software. The production management software will count the number of processes of this product. If there are omissions, the omitted processes can be traced back and the products can be returned to the omitted process points for rework. If the number of processes is correct, it means that the production is completed.


6. For the work-in-progress that has been completed, the production management system will automatically unbind the RFID tag from the production barcode, and identify the production barcode as a unique identification code and Store it in the database to provide a basis for future product traceability.
