The application of RFID in procurement, storage, transportation, sales and service

Data collection and automatic identification

Function introduction: Automatic identification industry barcode recognition technology, radio frequency identification technology, biometric identification technology, smart card identification technology, optical character recognition technology, voice recognition technology, visual recognition technology, image recognition technology and other automatic identification technologies.

RFID plays a major role in many interlocking links of logistics from procurement, storage, transportation, sales to service and in social benefits.

The functions of RFID are mainly divided into the following aspects.

1. RFID technology is used in the purchase process to change the traditional purchase management of sellers in the past. Readers and writers are used to obtain the goods and the logistics information that arrives at the same time. The goods are automatically counted and transferred to the information system for storage; the goods are placed in different warehouses. After entering the warehouse area, fixed electronic tag readers can be used to monitor the storage status of goods in the warehouse, such as statistics on designated stacking areas, shelf time and other information. When the deadline for the goods in the storage area is approaching, an alarm signal is automatically sent to the central dispatching system to notify the staff; when the goods are shipped out of the warehouse, changes in the information of the goods are also transmitted to the corresponding database. The use of RFID technology makes the registration of goods automated, faster and more accurate, reducing personnel requirements and goods loss, enabling quick pick-up and pickup, and minimizing storage costs.

2. Sales process Merchants use electronic tags to count goods in the sales process. Detailed information of the goods, such as the type and quantity of inventory, can be queried only on the system management software of the host computer. It also realizes automatic scanning and billing of items at the payment counter, replacing the cumbersome manual payment mode. Consumers are more concerned about the issue of expiration date. The system monitors the expiration date of certain effective products and reminds merchants to take corresponding measures to avoid expired losses. At the same time, the product management system manages the goods and promptly responds when they are out of stock. Notify merchants to replenish goods to ensure sufficient supply and improve the efficiency of the sales process.

3. Transportation link: By attaching RFID tags to the surface of the goods (such as on the container and outer packaging), the goods can be tracked and controlled. The goods in the process of transportation are read by readers installed at stations, docks, airports, highway exits, etc. After reading the information of the electronic tags, they are transmitted to the database of the cargo dispatch center together with the location information of the goods, accurately and timely. Update cargo information in the logistics network. The application of RFID technology in the above links makes reasonable product inventory control and intelligent logistics technology possible.

RFID is very suitable for situations that require non-contact data collection and exchange for logistics tracking, delivery vehicles, warehouse shelves and target identification. It is widely used in warehouse management, transportation management, material tracking and shelf identification in Logistics Management, Stores (especially supermarket).

Conclusion: Radio frequency identification technology has gradually become an indispensable technical Tool and means for enterprises to improve the level of logistics supply chain management, reduce costs, realize enterprise management informatization, and increase competitiveness. The market for the application of radio frequency identification technology electronic tags in the logistics field will be unprecedentedly expanded. Looking at the application of RFID, it is not only reflected in the general logistics field, but also in many new fields. The development prospects of radio frequency identification technology are still very broad.
