RFID vehicle identification application

1. Overview of RFID technology:


Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology refers to a method of identifying items using radio technology. The basic principle of radio frequency identification is to attach an electronic tag to the item to be identified. When the item with the electronic tag attached passes through a specific area, another important device of the radio frequency identification system, the reading device, can read all the information in the electronic tag. The Stored information is read out and sent to the computer in a contactless manner.


  Electronic tags


Electronic tags are key components of radio frequency identification systems. Electronic tags usually consist of electronic tag antennas and special chips. The electronic tag (or electronic tag dedicated chip) itself is an electronic system. The electronic tag stores the identification information of the item to be identified. When it receives the query signal from the reader, it wirelessly transmits the unique identification information it stores to the reader. The identification information of the items to be identified in the electronic tag is stored in the storage chip in the electronic tag in the form of electronic data.


Reader/writer


The function of the reader/writer is, on the one hand, to read the information in the electronic tag, and on the other hand, to write information to the electronic label. This is why it is called a reader/writer. The specific area through which the electronic tag mentioned above passes is called the reading and writing area of the radio frequency identification system reading device. The characteristics of the reading and writing area are determined by the antenna of the reading device, the radio frequency power emitted by it, the reflection performance of the electronic tag, and the sensitivity of the reading device receiving signals.


The distance between the reader and the electronic tag when the reader can read the information in the electronic tag is called the recognition distance.



2. Three-dimensional garage vehicle identification system


The three-dimensional garage vehicle identification system uses ultra-high frequency RFID technology (915MHZ) to realize long-distance identification of vehicle information, and transmits the corresponding information between the vehicle and the garage, such as parking space number, payment status, etc., to the garage control system to achieve rapid Parking, quick car pick-up, non-stop charging and other functions.


The system can realize functions:


One card, one vehicle, transmits information to the PLC data center through radio frequency smart cards, realizing automatic parking and pickup of each vehicle without human operation.


Temporary vehicle management: Foreign vehicles can apply for temporary tags. When applying for tags, permissions can be granted by writing limited time information on the tags, which can limit the vehicle entry and exit time periods. For over-limit vehicles, the system will issue an alarm.


In order to make the operation simple, convenient and friendly, the system adopts a full Chinese menu-based operation interface.


The system can provide complete financial management functions and automatically form various reports.


The scrolling LED Chinese electronic display prompts users and managers at a glance.


The fully intelligent logic self-locking control system for vehicle entry and exit strictly controls the card holder's entry and exit behavior in line with the requirements of "one card, one vehicle".


Special handling functions of special vehicles.


The system has good compatibility and scalable functions.


3. Basic components of the system:


The reader and writer and the microwave identification card installed on the vehicle form the core of the information transmission of this system.


The reader is connected to the plate antenna through a coaxial cable, and is connected to the PLC of the three-dimensional garage through communication lines. The reader is preset with the RS232 RS485 WG26 WG34 standard transmission interface, and has the ability to make adjustments according to the requirements of the PLC.


Parking workflow:


1. Vehicle approach recognition range (0~~10 meters);


2. The reader identifies the vehicle (electronic tag) information, such as parking space number, entry time, owner information, etc., and transmits it to the PLC immediately (50 milliseconds);


3. The PLC controlled garage is ready;


4. The vehicle enters the parking area and stops.


Car pickup workflow:


1. Vehicle owner approach recognition range (0~~10 meters);


2. The reader identifies the vehicle (electronic tag) information and transmits it to the PLC immediately (50 milliseconds);


3.PLC will adjust the corresponding vehicle to the driving area;


4. The car owner arrives at the car pickup area and picks up the car.
