RFID technology is applied to AGV site positioning, navigation and dispatching system

AGV trolleys refer to transport vehicles equipped with electromagnetic or optical automatic guidance devices that can travel along prescribed guidance paths and have safety protection and various transfer functions. As an unmanned industrial handling vehicle, high speed, efficiency and accurate positioning are very important for the AGV car transportation system.

RFID has the advantages of non-contact and non-line-of-sight. Using RFID to control AGV car positioning is not only simple in structure and low in cost compared to other positioning methods (inertial positioning, ultrasonic positioning, laser positioning, etc.), but it is also easier to implement and can position accurately.

Automation, informatization, and intelligence have become the needs of the development of the times. Since the 21st century, wireless technology and computer technology have continued to develop in depth, and the Internet of Things industry is booming. RFID is a non-contact automatic identification technology that automatically identifies target objects and obtains relevant data through radio frequency signals. The identification does not require manual intervention and can work in various harsh environments. Due to these characteristics of RFID, the integration of RFID positioning technology into AGV has great significance and value.

1. How to use RFID in AGV

AGV is controlled by PLC. The car is equipped with a wireless communication system, which can communicate wirelessly with the host computer, report its own running position and working status, execute the instructions of the host computer, and transmit the work rhythm and workload to the host computer in a timely manner;

AGV reads ground signs through RFID and takes corresponding actions (change speed, steering, positioning, parking, etc.);

The PLC can control the car according to the preset program, or it can upload the data to the host computer, and then control the car according to the instructions of the host computer.

2. Advantages of long-distance and high-speed RFID positioning technology

(1) It has strong penetrability and can easily penetrate objects to read tags without affecting the reading range;

(2) Strong anti-interference, other frequency band technologies are susceptible to interference from factors such as environmental humidity, noise, oil, electromagnetic fields, strong vibrations, etc., and are prone to unstable card reading, resulting in data packet loss or failure to read tags. Chenkong AGV card reader Not easily disturbed and well able to avoid these problems;

(3) The card reading distance is moderate and stable. To achieve accurate parking, the AGV sensor (i.e. card reader) must have a stable and reasonable card reading distance. If the reading distance is too close, it means that the AGV chassis needs to be very low, which will undoubtedly increase the equipment failure rate; if the reading distance is too far, it means that the positioning is inaccurate. The robot has read the tag and stopped before it reaches the site. However, Chenkong Technology AGV reads the tag and stops the robot. The card reader solves this kind of problem very well. CK-G06 can accurately control the card reading distance at 5-10cm. For some sites with special requirements, the card reading distance can also be set and controlled to 15-20cm.

(4) The card reading speed is fast, and the stable tag reading speed reaches more than 2 meters/second. When the AGV is accelerating, the tag will not be read when the ordinary RFID Reader cannot read the electronic tag;
