RFID technology helps municipal waste classification and recycling

Since the implementation of garbage classification management measures in Shanghai on July 1, 2019, it has caused huge repercussions in Shanghai and the country. The implementation of this garbage classification measure: fully recycle and utilize renewable resources, turn waste into treasure, and reduce urban waste disposal quantity, reduced environmental pollution, achieved a win-win situation for social benefits and the ecological environment, and made a huge contribution to the construction of socialist ecological civilization.

RFID urban waste classification and recycling facilities

Actively responding to the call for national ecological civilization construction, we combined RFID technology with urban garbage classification and recycling, and developed a city garbage classification and recycling management solution based on RFID technology. This solution effectively improves the efficiency of urban waste classification and recycling and reduces operating costs.

RFID garbage classification and recycling solution:

The garbage collection solution provides an efficient method of real-time tracking, providing better RFID electronic tag reading range, higher performance and more forms of tag options. The hardware of this solution includes: trash can management electronic tags with a frequency of 125 kHz, which can be used for steel garbage container management, and RFID Reader modules specially customized for garbage collection and transportation vehicles. These RFID read-write modules are waterproof, chemical-resistant, impact-resistant, and withstand extreme temperature changes. In field deployments, trash can tags and RFID read-write devices can be easily installed into various waste sorting and recycling equipment facilities, including metal waste. bins and plastic bins.

RFID electronic tags for garbage container management

RFID technology provides operational advantages for waste classification, collection and transportation management. After tags are embedded in wheeled bins, readers on waste transport vehicles can identify the containers, and the system then records the weight of the waste. The background system records the tag's location and associates it with GPS coordinates. This information is then forwarded to management offices to help better guide decisions about waste haul route efficiency and develop fleet optimization. Municipalities can also use RFID technology to record abnormal information, such as "trash bins are missing", "garbage transportation is blocked" and "garbage containers are contaminated".

The solution's RFID tags help municipalities and waste removal services optimize the speed and completeness of data collection, enabling pay-as-you-go and recycling incentive programs.
