RFID technology creates smart ports and terminals

As the construction of major ports in my country continues to develop rapidly, the throughput of ports continues to expand, and the trend of international economic integration, as the carrier of logistics transportation, shipping terminals improve the level of automated logistics operations, reduce the number of work steps for staff, and reduce costs. Logistics costs, establish an automated management and control platform.

The RFID Terminal smart gate project includes multiple functions such as RFID electronic license plate recognition, RFID container number recognition, RFID container experience, and RFID gate human-computer interaction system.

The RFID electronic license plate has the basic information of the vehicle written in advance through the card issuance management system, such as vehicle ID, license plate number, vehicle weight, etc. And RFID electronic license plates are installed on all vehicles entering and exiting the terminal gate. At this time, the vehicles have unique ID Cards. Install RFID identification systems at all gates, roads and other places where RFID electronic license plates need to be recognized. The recognition system operates around the clock. When a vehicle equipped with an electronic license plate enters the recognition area, the recognition antenna can capture the relevant information in the electronic license plate and send it to the backend in real time to help the backend do further processing.

The container number, as the ID symbol that uniquely identifies the container, needs to be recorded in all aspects of the container transportation process. This system uses image recognition technology based on neural network algorithms and advanced CCD image acquisition technology to automatically capture the numbers of various containers entering and leaving the port, and quickly perform automatic identification, eliminating errors caused by manual transcription and reducing the number of entries into the port. time and improve work efficiency.

Container body damage detection is an inevitable inspection task when containers enter the port terminal. It mainly prevents disputes between transportation companies and terminals due to box damage. In the past, this work was manually recorded by the port entry gate staff entering the crossing, and required climbing a high corridor bridge to inspect the top surface of the box, which caused high risks and inaccurate processing. This system uses an advanced logic control system and picture acquisition system to present the image of the box surface in front of the computer screen, so that the inspector can complete the damage inspection as long as he is in front of the computer.

After the driver drives the truck to the terminal gate, he needs to wait for the automatic collection process of multiple data such as RFID electronic license plate recognition, RFID container number recognition, disability inspection, etc., and submit the reservation order in hand to the gate system. In the past, this work had gates The staff in the room enter the information, and after using the human-computer interaction system, the reservation form can automatically scan the information into the gate system, and the driving instructions fed back by the terminal system will be printed into a receipt and sent to the driver.

With this series of informatization measures, the customs clearance speed of container trucks has been reduced from the previous 5 minutes to 30 seconds, which has greatly improved the customs clearance efficiency of container trucks and the throughput of the port; because the electronic license plate has an anti-disassembly electronic tag, unrelated and illegal vehicles cannot Entering the port area, it has an anti-submarine function, ensuring that one car has one card, eliminating the appearance of impostors and fake cars.

In the database, the vehicle information is also associated with the container information carried. Automated data collection allows managers to have a more accurate grasp of each container, thereby providing more accurate information to shipping companies and yards. Normally, many shipping companies use terminals to understand the status and arrival time of their containers, and terminals use fixed-site data collection to obtain this information. Using traditional manual collection methods, data information may often deviate. Automatic collection of container data through RFID can improve the speed and accuracy of data collection, allowing users to grasp real-time information on related goods in a timely manner.
