RFID Asset Management Solutions

With the rapid growth of fixed Assets in enterprises, traditional ASSET MANAGEMENT methods face problems such as high costs, idle assets, asset loss and depreciation. Therefore, it is crucial to find a simple and efficient asset management method. RFID, as a contactless automatic identification technology, automatically identifies the target object and obtains relevant data through radio frequency signals, thereby realizing process control and full life cycle management of enterprise fixed assets and reducing the situation of idle assets.

1. Difficulty in real-time tracking of asset management processes


The traditional form of asset management lacks intermediate tracking management and cannot record historical information of assets, such as purchase, transfer, allocation, maintenance and disposal. It lacks a clear management system and approval procedures, which easily leads to errors, fraud and illegal acts. At the same time, the lack of management operation logs makes the asset management process impossible to trace.


2. The cumbersome and error-prone manual inventory


The traditional asset inventory process is cumbersome and time-consuming. Manual input is prone to copying errors and typing errors, resulting in inaccurate asset inventory information and difficult to trace.


3. Accounts do not match physical objects


Due to the decentralized nature of asset management, account management and physical management are not synchronized, and there are inconsistencies in bills between different entities.


4. Lack of data mining and decision analysis


Traditional asset management has many problems of manual intervention, the authenticity of data is questioned, query statistics are difficult, and it is impossible to provide a practical basis for asset procurement and scrapping, and it is impossible to conduct decision analysis.


2. Construction goals


By attaching one or more RFID electronic tags to each asset and writing basic information into the tag, the management of the entire life cycle of materials can be achieved. Through RFID technology, the storage, tracking, monitoring, query, automatic inventory, scrapping reminder, statistical analysis, maintenance, batch transfer and co-construction and sharing of assets can be realized, forming a digital and automated asset management model, so that assets can be tracked, accurately queried and transferred in real time.


3. Overall solution design


In order to realize the modernization, intelligence and standardization of enterprise asset management, Guangdong Hanglian Technology has proposed an asset management solution based on RFID technology, which includes the deployment of RFID systems, including RFID Readers, RFID electronic tags (transponders) and application software.


1. Software Features


(1) Automatic Inventory: Automatic inventory and positioning through Bluetooth gateway, automatic identification and inventory of assets, and generate inventory reports.


(2) Automatic statistical analysis: The system can automatically classify and count the materials in stock, analyze the failure rate, calculate the asset depreciation rate, and count the monthly in and out of the warehouse, and generate various data reports, and display the statistical results through graphical Tools.


(3) Intelligent early warning reminder: The system provides intelligent early warning reminders at key time nodes of asset management, including regular maintenance reminders, expiration reminders, asset shortage reminders, borrowing and return reminders, abnormal out of the warehouse reminders, and environmental monitoring abnormal reminders.


(4) Security Monitoring: Entry and exit detection is achieved by deploying Bluetooth gateways at the entrances and exits, and automatic alarms are triggered when materials that have not been registered and taken out pass by; cameras are installed in key areas for real-time video monitoring, and the video is automatically saved for easy traceability; environmental monitoring equipment is installed in the storage area to monitor temperature, humidity and sensitive gases in real time, and alarms are triggered when the set range is exceeded.


2. Hardware Description


(1) RFID tag: waterproof, dustproof, durable, can be packaged with multiple frequency band chips, suitable for different types of asset binding.


(2) RFID handheld terminal: realize RFID fast inventory, support communication with the platform, obtain inventory plan and report inventory results, with 1-10m long-distance identification and reading capabilities.


(3) Fixed RFID reader: works normally in an environment of -20℃ to +70℃, is lightweight and convenient, can quickly read tags and upload data in real time.


(4) RFID channel door: intelligent security Access Control, supports multi-tag reading, adopts infrared trigger reading mode, and integrates sound and light alarm.


(5) Material workbench: integrates necessary equipment such as computer, RFID reader, RFID label printer, electronic signature board and document printer to realize item registration, handover and in and out warehouse management operations. The equipment has a built-in radio frequency antenna and can automatically identify and count items.


(6) Smart cabinet: Realize quick inventory of items in the cabinet, provide different types of cabinets according to the storage environment, such as item cabinets, File cabinets, key cabinets and valuables cabinets, support multiple ways to open the cabinet, and can assign user permissions through the platform.


(7) Bluetooth beacon: No need to connect to the low-power Bluetooth host, usually placed on fixed assets, and send signals to the surrounding through continuous broadcast.


(8) Bluetooth gateway: A gateway device that integrates Bluetooth BLE, WiFi and Ethernet, and realizes communication between Bluetooth BLE and WiFi through the serial port.
