A leading composite material manufacturer produces ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers, widely used in military and police protection and civilian applications. To meet growing market demand, the factory partnered with Guangzhou Morning Control Intelligent Technology to fully deploy an RFID system throughout its UHMWPE fiber production line, achieving a leapfrog upgrade from traditional manual operations to intelligent manufacturing. The core goal of this transformation is to address systemic pain points in the traditional production model and provide decision support for production management through end-to-end data collection.
Application Solution
A general RFID application scenario involves installing a reader beneath the conveyor belt. In the harsh environment of polyethylene fiber production, characterized by high temperature, high humidity, strong electromagnetic interference, and oil contamination, traditional identification technologies such as barcodes and QR codes are susceptible to damage and have low recognition accuracy, making them unable to meet production requirements.
RFID (radio frequency identification) technology, with its unique advantages, has become an ideal choice for data collection and management on polyethylene fiber production lines. Non-visual identification: RFID tags do not require visual recognition, as barcodes and QR codes do. During the polyethylene fiber production process, the material surface may be contaminated with oil, dust, or obscured by non-metallic materials during transport within the equipment. However, RFID tags can still be reliably recognized by the reader, ensuring timely and accurate data collection. Strong adaptability to harsh environments: RFID tags offer excellent resistance to high temperatures, humidity, electromagnetic interference, and oil.
The polyethylene fiber production process is exposed to large amounts of moisture and corrosive substances, making conventional identification tags susceptible to damage. However, RFID tags operate reliably, ensuring reliable data transmission. Large-capacity data storage: RFID tags can Store a wealth of information, including batch numbers, raw material information, production process parameters, production equipment numbers, production time, and quality inspection data for each process. This data provides comprehensive support for product quality traceability and production process optimization.
In actual application, CK-UR08-E00 RFID Readers are installed at each key process node in polyethylene fiber production. Before raw materials are brought online, RFID tags containing batch information and specifications are affixed to carriers. As the materials flow through the production line, the readers read the tag information and upload the data in real time to the production management system. The system associates the raw material information it reads with the corresponding polyethylene fiber batch. This enables real-time monitoring and management of the entire polyethylene fiber production process, effectively improving production efficiency and product quality.
To meet the needs of polyethylene fiber production, the CK-UR08 series of RFID products has been launched. These products offer the following features:
● Highly Integrated Design: Integrating an antenna, amplifier, and controller, and utilizing advanced integrated chip technology, this series achieves compactness and high performance. This highly integrated design not only reduces the size and weight of the device, facilitating installation on production equipment with limited space, but also reduces the complexity of inter-device connectivity, improving system stability and reliability.
● Convenient Installation and Flexible Deployment: The product's compact size and structure offer flexible mounting options, allowing for quick installation at key locations on the production line, such as the material inlet and outlet of polyethylene fiber equipment, using bolt-on methods.
● Standard Communication Protocols and Interfaces: Compliant with standard industrial communication protocols such as modbus TCP/IP, ProfiNet, and EtherNet/IP, it supports Ethernet interfaces. This standardized design enables seamless integration of the RFID system with existing production management systems (such as MES and ERP), enabling real-time data transmission and sharing. Through the Ethernet interface, the reader can quickly upload collected RFID tag data to the server, providing timely data support for production scheduling and quality control.
● High Protection Rating: With an IP67 rating, the device offers excellent resistance to water, dust, oil, and corrosion. This ensures normal operation even during prolonged exposure to harsh environments during the polyethylene fiber production process, effectively extending its service life and reducing maintenance costs. ● Operating Frequency and Standards: The operating frequency is 920MHz to 925MHz, compliant with the EPC Global Class 1 Gen 2/ISO-18000-6C international standard. This frequency ensures signal transmission stability and penetration while effectively preventing signal interference with other electronic equipment on the production site, ensuring reliable operation of the RFID system.
