How does RFID industrial reader help AGV car intelligent positioning?

Automated Guided Vehicle is abbreviated as AGV, which means "automatic guided transport vehicle". AGV is a transport vehicle equipped with electromagnetic or optical automatic guidance devices, which can travel along the specified guide path and has safety protection and various transfer functions.

In warehousing and production environments, AGVs often face challenges of various harsh conditions, which puts high demands on the thermal load and mechanical load capacity of the components used. To ensure that the AGV is reliably positioned in the defined area and prevent danger, the switching or shutting down operations during the operation of the AGV must be performed correctly. For this purpose, RFID reading and writing devices that occupy a small space and are easy to install are required. These devices must be able to withstand thermal and mechanical stresses and are not affected by electromagnetic interference (EMC).

So, how do modbus-connected-PLC-UHF-RFID-915M-all-in-one-production-line-management.html target='_blank'>rfid industrial readers help AGV carts to position intelligently?

1. Install a small RFID industrial reader directly under the head of the AGV feeder. Place pallets, racks, boxes and other goods on the feeder for transportation. The RFID industrial reader identifies the RFID electronic tags on the track nodes to select the station for feeding.

2. Install RFID tags with site codes at the track nodes on the material delivery route. After placing the materials on the AGV delivery vehicle, the control center issues instructions (delivery route) to the PLC controller. After receiving the instructions, the PLC controls the delivery vehicle to start and start delivering materials according to the instructions.

3. After the RFID industrial reader recognizes the location information Stored in the RFID tag, it feeds back to the PLC controller (control system module). After the PLC receives the coded data and processes the information, it controls the AGV delivery vehicle to select a station to stop at according to the delivery route.

4. After the materials arrive at the site, the AGV delivery vehicle can deliver the materials to the next site according to the instructions, so after the delivery instruction is completed, the delivery vehicle returns to the starting point according to the set route.

In short, the AGV is controlled by PLC, and the trolley is equipped with a wireless communication system, so that it can communicate with the host computer wirelessly; report its own operating position and working status; execute the instructions of the host computer; and transmit the work rhythm and workload to the host computer in a timely manner; the AGV reads the ground RFID tag through the RFID industrial reader and writer, and makes corresponding actions (changing speed, turning, positioning and parking, etc.). The AGV is equipped with an RFID Reader and writer at the bottom of the body, and the node position on the ground is equipped with an RFID electronic tag, and an ID number and definition are given to the RFID tag on each node. For example, node A represents that the AGV is turning, which is represented by the ID number 00001. Once the transport vehicle passes through A, the RFID reader and writer will read the ID number of the RFID electronic tag at A. The PLC makes the trolley take corresponding actions based on the read data, thereby realizing the AGV scheduling system function and site positioning function.
