Application solutions of RFID technology in hazardous waste management

1. Background Introduction

With the rapid development of my country's economy, the emission of hazardous waste in the textile, chemical, pharmaceutical, electronic and other industries has increased year by year. However, improper disposal of hazardous waste may lead to air, water and soil pollution, posing a serious threat to the environment and human health, and restricting the sustainable development of economy and health. Therefore, it is of great significance to improve the centralized, efficient and safe treatment of hazardous waste and realize automation, informatization, intelligence, efficiency and systematic management.

2. Application of RFID Technology

Introduce mature RFID technology into the hazardous waste management system to achieve three-dimensional management, provide automated, standardized and informatized operation process monitoring management, and maximize the level of hazardous waste information management through digital and informatized management, enhance the comprehensive treatment capacity of hazardous waste, and reduce safety hazards.

2.1 Hazardous waste storage management

When receiving hazardous waste, the hazardous waste treatment center needs to check the receiving list and check whether the packaging is sealed and leak-free, and whether the label is affixed and filled in according to the specifications. After confirmation, the background system will generate an RFID electronic tag for the hazardous waste and stick it on the hazardous goods. Next, the hazardous waste will be loaded on the pallet and wait for storage.

The pallet is pre-implanted with an RFID chip, which is associated with the hazardous goods information. The staff uses the RFID handheld terminal to scan the barcode of the hazardous goods and the RFID label on the pallet, associate the two information, and upload it to the background database. The background system generates the task to be Stored and sends the task to the smart forklift.

2.2 RFID smart forklift

The smart forklift consists of a forklift industrial control computer terminal and an RFID Reader. The forklift industrial control computer can receive the storage task issued by the background system and guide the forklift driver to the designated loading and unloading point for hazardous goods shipment.

When the forklift arrives at the loading and unloading point, the RFID reader reads the RFID tag information on the pallet, and confirms the information of the hazardous goods being transported by querying the background data system, and tranSports them to the designated warehouse and placement area according to the system instructions.

3. Advantages of RFID hazardous waste management solutions

Through the application of RFID technology in the warehousing process, the hazardous waste treatment center can strictly store hazardous goods by category, realize one item per one location, improve warehousing efficiency, avoid misplacement caused by human errors, and maximize the safety of hazardous goods storage.

In the pre-processing process of hazardous waste out of the warehouse, it is also necessary to strictly follow the operating procedures. The processing methods and steps of different hazardous goods are different, so it is crucial to avoid incorrect processing.

Install location tags in each pre-processing center and bind the location tags with the processing information of the pre-processing. When the forklift performs the task of hazardous goods out of the warehouse, it first determines the hazardous goods information through the RFID electronic tag information on the pallet and checks the outbound order. After confirmation, the system prompts to go to the designated pre-processing center. After the forklift arrives at the pre-processing center according to the guidance, the scanning equipment will first scan the location tag of the pre-processing center and check whether it is correct. If it is correct, the forklift driver will be prompted to perform the outbound operation, otherwise it will trigger an alarm. All processing information will be uploaded to the background system in time and archived, and reports will be provided as needed.

By introducing RFID technology, making full use of its characteristics of information identification, long-distance recognition and strong environmental adaptability, a hazardous waste information management system is constructed to realize the automation, informatization, efficiency, standardization and refinement of hazardous goods in and out of the warehouse, thereby improving the centralized, efficient and safe treatment of hazardous waste. The application of RFID technology effectively reduces the pressure of manual management and improves management efficiency and accuracy.

IV. Application of RFID technology in hazardous waste management

4.1 Real-time tracking and monitoring

RFID technology can realize real-time tracking and monitoring of hazardous waste. Through the pasting and information binding of RFID tags, managers can know the location, quantity and status of hazardous waste at any time. Real-time monitoring helps to respond quickly to abnormal situations and improve the management efficiency of hazardous waste.

4.2 Accurate storage and outbound

RFID technology can ensure the accurate storage and outbound of hazardous waste. Through the identification and association binding of RFID tags, the system can accurately record the storage and outbound information of hazardous waste, avoid human errors and missed inspections, and improve the accuracy and reliability of management.

4.3 Inventory management optimization

RFID technology helps to optimize the inventory management of hazardous waste. Through the information management of RFID tags, the system can realize the accurate management of inventory quantity, storage location and storage time, avoid inventory confusion and expired storage, and improve the efficiency and controllability of inventory management.

4.4 Safety protection and emergency treatment

RFID technology can also be used for safety protection and emergency treatment in hazardous waste management. Through the long-distance recognition capability of RFID tags, managers can quickly locate and handle hazardous waste in emergencies, reducing emergency treatment time and improving safety protection effects.
