Application of RFID Technology in Smart Laundry Management System

1. Industry Background

Currently, hotels, Hospitals, bathhouses and professional laundry companies are facing a large number of work clothes and linens to be handed over, washed, ironed, sorted and Stored. How to effectively track and manage the washing process, washing times, inventory status and classification of each piece of linen has become a huge challenge:

1. The traditional paper-based washing task handover is cumbersome and difficult to query;

2. Worry about cross infection leading to the inability to count the number of some linens to be washed, and the mismatch between the number of washed and the task is prone to commercial disputes;

3. Each link of the washing process cannot be accurately monitored, and linens may be missed;

4. The washed linens cannot be accurately classified, and the storage space is wasted;

5. The minimum safe inventory of each piece of linen cannot be accurately arranged.

2. System Introduction

The RFID laundry management system introduces RFID wireless radio frequency identification technology, making the management of linens more transparent, improving work efficiency, and solving management problems that could not be achieved by other technologies in the past, such as the statistics and handover of large quantities of linens to be washed.

The system sews a strip-shaped electronic tag on each piece of linen. The tag contains a globally unique identification code, that is, each piece of linen has a unique management identification code. During the entire process of linen use and washing management, the system automatically records the use status and washing times of the linen through the RFID Reader. The system supports batch reading of labels when washing tasks are handed over, simplifying the handover process and reducing business disputes. By tracking the number of washes, the system can estimate the service life of the current linen and provide forecast data support for procurement plans.

III. System Advantages

1. Manual workload can be reduced by 40-50%;

2. The visualization of linen products reaches more than 99%, reducing the risk of missing linens;

3. Improved supply chain management can reduce work service time by 20-25%;

4. Improve the accuracy and reliability of stored information;

5. Efficient and accurate data collection to improve work efficiency;

6. Automatically collect, distribute and recover handover data to reduce human errors;

7. Reduce the comprehensive cost of user linen washing management.

4. System composition

1. RFID electronic tag;

2. RFID tag card issuer;

3. Fixed RFID reader;

4. RFID handheld terminal;

5. Intelligent laundry management system.

5. System design

Label sewing: sew strip-shaped RFID electronic tags for each piece of linen. It is recommended to sew them uniformly in an easy-to-find location.

Customer management: add and modify customer information, including unit list, contact person, phone number and address, etc.

Label entry: associate the information of each piece of laundry to be managed with the RFID tag ID into the database, and record the workflow and life cycle of each work clothes and linen.

Dirt inventory and verification: directly pack the dirt with RFID tags, automatically collect the quantity through the fixed RFID reader channel, and record the ID of each piece of dirt read, so as to improve work efficiency and reduce business disputes.

Clean linen inventory: the cleaned linen is counted and checked again through the fixed RFID reader channel to confirm whether there is any linen missing during the washing process, and a list is generated for handover to the user.

Linen sorting and classification: Use the uniqueness of RFID tags to help sort the linens in each ward, and use the RFID reader to confirm whether they are misplaced before packaging.

Linen query: By scanning the label of the linen, you can query the information of each piece of linen to prevent loss and confusion.

VI. System assembly process

Product identification: Sew a button with an RFID electronic tag on each piece of laundry that needs to be managed to identify each piece of clothing. The RFID smart tag chip has a globally unique ID number, and writes the specific attributes of the clothing according to customer information, such as the owner of the clothing, life, number of washes and model, etc.

Automatic inventory: It is divided into incoming inventory and outgoing inventory, accurately recording the number of each handover. For packaged dirt, it can be accurately counted through the RFID tunnel reader with an accuracy rate of 100%. These data are objective and scientific, and the handover quantity can be checked with the user. The clean clothes ready to be returned to the user are also accurately counted through the RFID tunnel reader, and a list is generated.

Automatic sorting: Through the uniqueness of RFID tags, clean clothes can be automatically sorted in the washing plant area, directly sorted to the smallest user unit and packaged and listed.

Data management: The system stores all the information of laundry and washing process data in the database, including the number of washings, service life, washing records, etc. Users can query the detailed information of each piece of laundry through the system, such as the number of washings, the last washing date, etc., for maintenance and management.

Report generation: The system can generate various reports according to user needs, such as laundry usage reports, washing times statistics reports, etc., to help users analyze data and make decisions.

Early warning function: The system can issue early warnings according to the service life and washing times of laundry, prompting users to perform maintenance and replacement, to avoid affecting the use effect due to aging or damage of laundry.

VII. System application scenarios

Hotels: Guest room linens can be managed, including sheets, quilt covers, pillowcases, etc., to ensure that each piece of linen has been washed and the number of washings is recorded to avoid the risk of cross-infection of linens.

Hospital: It can manage ward linens, including bed sheets, quilt covers, pillowcases, surgical gowns, etc., to ensure that each piece of linen is washed and the number of washings is recorded to avoid the risk of cross infection.

Bathhouse: It can manage bath towels, bathrobes and other linens, to ensure that each piece of linen is washed and the number of washings is recorded to increase the service life of the linens.

Professional laundry companies: It can manage customers' linens, including work clothes, napkins, tablecloths, etc., to ensure that each piece of linen is washed and the number of washings is recorded, and provide customers with traceable washing data.

8. System advantages

Improve work efficiency: Through automatic counting and sorting, reduce manual operations, improve the processing speed and accuracy of laundry, and save human resources.

Improve washing quality: By recording the number of washings and washing process data, problems in the washing process can be discovered and solved in a timely manner, and the washing quality can be improved.

Reduce costs: Reduce washing costs by reducing manual operations and increasing the service life of laundry.

Provide data support: The system can generate various reports and data analysis to help users understand the use and trends of laundry, make decisions and plans.
